After finding a new job, Jim Martin (David Chisum – FLIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD) moves his photographer wife Debbie (Lisa Vidal – ODD GIRL OUT) and their son out to L.A where they find a perfect new home. While taking practice shoots around the house Debbie takes a picture of a mirror only to be knocked back by a force once trapped in the glass.

Shaking it off as just being jumpy, Debbie continues to take photos of her surroundings. Then she takes photos of people, people who once are photographed are hunted down by a black hooded figure. Debbie delves deeper and deeper into the dark history of the house which leads to your run of the mill twist ending that you see coming a mile away. That’s right dear horror fans we have another one of those ghost films.

In fairness the basic idea behind the story is actually pretty good, but unfortunately DARK MIRROR is yet another film that falls short of the hurdle, falling flat on its face with so, so acting and lack of suspense.

This seems to be a trend in horror in recent years which is a damn shame. I didn’t mind the TV Movie look of the film, there are plenty of film that are made cheap which are pretty strong, but this one really does belong as a sci-fi evening film or something you would find late night on the horror channel.

If you like you ghost story horror you could give this a go; however I found it lacked something as a whole.
