I entered the world of WWE just around the midway part of the Attitude Era, I saw some of the best matches around that time and have also caught up with the old PPV's over the years however I never really saw the early PPV's of the IN YOUR HOUSE years. Yeah I have seen a few but the matches on offer here on THE BEST OF IN YOUR HOUSE are matches I have heard of but have not managed to watch yet but for lifelong WWE fans this will be a grand walk down memory lane for you.
We start from the first ever in your house event with a match between Bret Hart and Hakushi from May 1995 and we finish on disk three with the brutal Last Man Standing match between The Rock and Mankind for the WWF Championship at St. Valentines Day Massacre. A in-between these two great matches are three disks of entertaining matches from yesteryear.
The matches chosen for this disk were great, I have watched a few of these best of DVD's now and sometimes you are given the dud matches ith one or two good ones throwing in, however this is not the case here. You have a few duds but mostly we are treated to WWE gold. My top matches have to be the Last Man Standing match between Rock and Mankind, The 8-man non-sanctioned match that pitted Stone cold, Owen Hart, Chainsaw Charlie (Terry Funk) and Cactus Jack against D-X and Savio Vega and the epic match between Mankind and Shawn Micheals from Mind Games, a match Foley says is one of his best matches.
I can see a Volume 2 being released of the back of this DVD, there are some many matches that were great around this time that need to be collected and I welcome this. I throughly enjoyed this collection and I think you will too!

The road to WRESTLEMANIA 29 takes a detour through ELIMINATION CHAMBER, where 6 men will battle it out for the chance to face Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight championship at the showcase of the immortals.
The ELIMINATION CHAMBER match aside there isn't really much to shout about in this event. We have the usual matches that are basically just fillers before WRESTLEMANIA which really don't excite me. We have a random match between Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler which was so so, The Big Show takes on Del Rio AGAIN, we have a 6-Man Tag Team match featuring John Cena, Ryback and Sheamus taking on The Shield and a few more mid card matches that aren't even worth mentioning.
The only decent match (apart from the Chamber Match) is the rematch between The Rock and C.M Punk, a match which was on par with their match from the Royal Rumble.
In short this is WWE's way of killing time. It was a damn shame that this event leads to The Rock vs Cena 2 at WRESTLEMANIA instead of a triple threat match involving CM Punk but oh well. If you are starting your 2013 collection this could be worth it, and who am I to say you wouldn't enjoy watching Big Show shuffling around AGAIN, but in my opinion this is a weak PPV that should have included a second Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Title.

The Road to wrestle begins at one of the most hotly anticipated events of the year, the ROYAL RUMBLE. 30 men from both RAW and SMACKDOWN battle it out it a 30 man Battle Royal to determine who will be going to the grandest stage of them all WRESTLEMANIA 29 to face the winner of our main event. WWE Champion CM Punk takes on The Great One The Rock in a WWE championship match that is 10 years in the making.
Also on the event card is a Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight title which sees World Champion Alberto Del Rio squaring up to The Big Show in a hard fought contest, which was actually a pretty good match even with Big Show in it.
ROYAL RUMBLE 2013 is second biggest event of the major four that run through the year and The main event bout between Rock and Punk was a damn good one. The winner of the Rumble match itself was a little predictable and if you are keeping up with things in real time you will see what I mean, but you will still be entertained by it if you are a Rumble fan. Both the main event matches were good for a change so this is hopefully signs of a decent change within WWE.
One of the best events I have seen in the last few months. I would serious urge you you go and buy this as it has a multiple watch appeal to it. The Road to Mania starts NOW! (or has ended is you have just watched it live!)

There are people in the film business who work behind the camera who will forever be influential to the future of cinema. Ray Harryhausen is one such person, an inspiration to some of today’s biggest creative minds such as Peter Jackson, Nick Park, Steven Spielberg, Guillermo Del Toro and James Cameron (among many others). His films are films that will go down in history as classic and, even though he didn't direct them officially, his hands on work pretty much made him the director. Harryhausen created his creature by hand, delicately moving them and manipulating them to a point that drags the audience into the story.
RAY HARRYHAUSEN: SPECIAL EFFECTS TITAN is the documentary of the man’s illustrious career and documents his work from the fairytale shorts he animated when he first started out to his work on such epic films as THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD, MYSTERIOUS ISLAND and JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS. Harryhausen himself talks about his times behind the camera and his techniques that made him the legend that he is. The documentary proves once and for all that Harryhausen is a legend and he will always be a legend. If it wasn't for him we would have never got LORD OF THE RINGS or JURASSIC PARK.
The special features on this two disk set include: a trailer collection, audio commentary with Giles Penso, Tony Dalton and Tim Nicholson and disk two includes a small featurette called “A TREASURE TROVE” which looks at the items found in Ray’s garage.
This is a great little documentary and has made me personally want to go out and buy the films of Ray Harryhausen on DVD. If you love the old stop motion fantasy films of the 50’s and 60’s give this a watch.

TABLES, LADDERS AND CHAIRS OH MY, the classic line that rings true with every single TLC match that preceded the classic three way bout between The Hardys, The Dudley Boys and Edge and Christian. It is a match that can take years off your professional career and even end it. The aim? To climb the ladder and retrieve a title belt, using the table’s chairs and the ladders to help you gain it. Over the last few years WWE have made this match into a PPV and we have seen some truly classic matches. 2012’s event is one of these events with the top names in WWE battling it out in some brutal matches.
We have some good matches here pretty much all the way through. Things kick off with a Tag Team Tables match between Rhodes Scholers and the team of Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. This one was a great starting match between two strong tag teams. Kofi Kingston battled Wade Barrett in a well fought match for the Intercontinental Title and a bizarre tag team combination of The Miz, Alberto Del Rio and the Brooklyn Brawler took on 3mb. We also had R-Truth vs Antonio Cesaro which is best not talked about and a divas title match that I tend to skip past.
Now on to our top matches of the night we had the team of Ryback and Team Hell No taking on The Shield in a brutal TLC match that, for the first time, could end in a pin fall or submission. This is possibly my favorite match of the night, The Shield is a brutal little team that seem to be getting the push from the big guy at WWE HQ (possible this generations NWO?). We also had a Chairs Match that was, for the first time in ages, a really good match involving Big Show and Sheamus which was a brutal beat down of both men. Our Main event was a Ladder Match between John Cena and Dolph Ziggler for the money in the bank briefcase, a storyline which is obviously there because Punk was injured and couldn’t compete. This match sees AJ Lee double crossing Cena and joining forces with Ziggler in a “controversial” finish.
TLC 2012 was a really good PPV, and after the disappointment of SURVIVOR SERIES 2012 I am happy to see the action is coming in thick and fast for the run up to the ROYAL RUMBLE 2013 event.

November 2012 saw the 25th anniversary of the last if the big four PPV’s of the year, SURVIVOR SERIES an event which seems to be a Centre of controversy (the Montreal screw job anyone?) and the event where in 2011 CM Punk started his first day of being WWE champion.
When the event first started we were treated to several elimination tag team matches where two teams battle till only one team is left standing. We DO get a couple of Tag Matches but one is a bonus match at the start of the PPV tag includes a handful of mid-card superstars, Including such superstars as Justin Gabriel, Ray Mysterio and Sin Cara, and had no build up on Smackdown or Raw at all. It was a filler match, nothing more nothing less and felt like a waste of time. The second elimination match (which could have been bigger than it was) is Team Foley Vs. Team Ziggler, which was meant to be Team Foley Vs. Team Punk but in some odd turn of events was changed the week after it was announced.
We have a selection of mid card matches fill in the gaps before we get to our two main event matches, these include a below par United States championship bout between the annoyingly boring Antonio Cesaro and R Truth, a Divas title bout
And a confrontation between AJ Lee and Vicki Guerrero, a story line that will build onto next month’s TLC PPV (review to follow).
Our Main title bouts are the World Heavyweight title match between Big Show and Sheamus, a match that we saw at HELL IN A CELL 2012 that was the of the worst matches of that PPV. I like Sheamus; he was a fine champion who should never have lost his title to a boring superstar like Big Show in the first place. Non stipulation matches involving Big Show are just not worth the time watching in my opinion; however there are people out there who will love the guy so it all comes down to who you like at the end of the day.
This match is followed by the Team Foley Vs. Team Ziggler Match which is a decent little match and one worthy of the Survivor Series event where we get the big names of the WWE involved in this oddly placed match up.
And then we get the main event, a triple threat match for the WWE championship that pits CM Punk against both Ryback and John Cena. A decent little match that sees the start of the rivalry between The Shield and Ryback (or anyone who tries to take out CM Punk)
Overall SURVIVOR SERIES 2012 was a major let down. Only Two matches really stood out and they were the WWE Title Triple Threat and the Team Foley Vs. Team Ziggler matches. I would wait for TLC 2012 before you part with you money but you will see by my next review

In 2012 WWE’s flag ship show hit its 1000th episode and to celebrate this landmark event WWE superstars choose their top 100 favorite moments.
What a way to celebrate such an impressive landmark!! I loved this 3-disk set. As a WWE fan I loved the chance to relive the moments of my teen years to the modern day moments. All the best bits are here, from the infamous Bed Pan to the head of Mr McMahon, the WCW buy out, The creation on one of the best wrestling factions D-X to Mankind winning the WWE Title, the matches that lost WCW the Monday night wars.
The first two disks contain the top 100 and also have a couple of extra matches in the bonus materials while the third disk includes the full 1000th edition of Raw for the first ever time on DVD. You couldn’t have picked a better collection of best bits if you tried and unlike other release TOP 100 RAW MOMENTS doesn’t use any filler or crap to build up the numbers.
If you are a true wrestling fan then this is a MUST buy. The clips brought out the kid in me again and we all want to relive our good times right?

October marked the return of the devil’s Structure HELL IN A CELL which saw C.M Punk face his biggest challenge to date in the form of Ryback.
After the disappointment of NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS 2012 it was great to get a top class PPV, and the funny thing about it was that the mid card matches were better than the main events. My top matches of the night belonged to The Miz V.S Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental Championship and an epic battle between Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio.
HELL IN A CELL also saw the year’s biggest shock as Punk managed to defeat Ryback with the help of Referee Brad Maddox, who low blows Ryback as he is about to win the title. This PPV marks an important time in 2012 a time which saw twists and turns in the WWE Universe, which makes HELL IN A CELL 2012 a great addition to your WWE collection.
High Point: The Miz VS Kofi Kingston - An impressive shown from both of these future stars. The Miz was on great form in this match.
Low Point – Sheamus VS Big Show – This rivalry was boring from the word go, Big Show has little talent and to see Sheamus lose was a stab in the heart to this fan.
September 2012 saw John Cena take on WWE champion C.M Punk for the championship in one of the more boring PPV events of 2012 NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS. As with my review of BEST PPV MATCHES 2012 this is my own opinion, everyone has a favourite wrestler or match however this event was full of miss timed moves and storylines that just seemed to drag on.
Take our first match, a fatal four way between the then Intercontinental champion The Miz, Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes and Sin Cara, there were several instances during the match that looked sloppy and amateurish and these moments were very noticeable. The rest of the event went along at a snails pace with most of the mid card matches being below par.
The main event matches were no different, the C.M Punk V.S John Cena match saw Punk yet again get through by the skin of his teeth, while John Cena was just there because he is the company favourite. Sheamus V.S Del Rio was a little better and it is always a shame to have Sheamus hold the lesser of the world titles while people like Cena get the limelight.
As a whole the PPV was a disappointment, the matches on display were boring and lacking the usual big match feel you normal get on one of the PPVs.
