Back to January now as we see the release of some big named titles, some which took FILM 4 FRIGHTFEST 2011 by storm.
TROLL HUNTER (JANUARY 9th):

Following the deaths of a couple of tourists and a spate of livestock mutilations in the mountains and forests of Norway, the government’s official line is that rogue bears are responsible. But the local hunters don’t agree and neither does a trio of college students who have been stalking an alleged poacher, Hans, with the intention of making a documentary film about him. Their persistence in pursuing Hans finally pays off when the filmmakers become victims of a night-time attack by something that is obviously much larger than a bear. In the aftermath, Hans agrees to an interview in which he reveals the truth regarding his occupation – he is actually a government employed troll hunter. Sceptical, the students volunteer to assist this unlikely hero in his work on the understanding that they will be allowed to document the proceedings and publicly reveal the heavily guarded secrets of a race of creatures thought only to exist in fairly tales.
_ROGUE RIVER ( JANUARY 16TH):

Wanting to scatter her father’s ashes at a significant place, Mara (Page) drives to a remote part of the beautiful Rogue River in Southern Oregon. When Mara’s car is towed away by over-zealous police she accepts the offer of a ride into town by a kindly passerby. First they must stop by his place though in order Jon (TEXAS CHAINSAW 2 and DEVIL’S REJECTS horror legend Bill Moseley) can tell his wife Lucinda what he’s up to. So begins Mara’s nightmare descent into utter horror and disgust. For Jon and Lucinda aren’t what they seem and as they hold Mara hostage inside their house the shock twists and creepy turns begin. Your nerves will be stripped as bare as Jon and Lucinda dare when their clothes and wigs are removed, making Mara wish she had parked her car somewhere else. If you’ve seen MISERY, you’ve seen nothing!
THE REVENANT ( APRIL 2ND):

Bart (David Anders - Vampire Diaries, 24), a soldier serving in Iraq, wakes up the morning after his own funeral, to find he’s not only still alive but has been resurrected as THE REVENANT, or one who has returned from the dead…

Unable to ignore his newfound thirst for blood, Bart knows that there is one person in his life whom he can rely on for help: his slacker best friend Joey (Chris Wylde - Fred: The Movie). Although Joey seems to have painlessly moved on in life, friends are friends and Bart is enthusiastically welcomed back, even as a zombie that needs to drink blood to stop the decomposition of his body. The best friend duo quickly realise Bart’s zombie-fied state is a perfect opportunity for them to become vigilante crime fighters, and they soon begin killing the city’s lowlife criminals who conveniently provide a steady supply of blood for Bart. However, their series of violent escapades soon become more gruesome than ever expected, as their misadventures escalate out of control, with horrifying consequences.

_One of the best new British Horror writers at the moment, Wayne Simmons is back with  the sequel to his fantastic novel FLU, titled FEVER along with another new title DOLL PARTS.

Wayne announced the forthcoming UK release of both books Via his Blog as in aiming to get both books on the shelves in early 2012. Both books will be released through Snowbooks.

"FEVER should hit shelves in February 2012. I hope to launch it at the CARDIFF COMIC EXPO."   Says Simmons

FEVER has even be endorsed by Snakebite favorite David Moody who said this about the book on Simmons' Blog: “FEVER wears its reanimated heart proudly on its sleeve. Simmons builds on the nightmare world he created in FLU and manages to make it even more horrific and diseased. A sequel which surpasses the original.”

DOLL PARTS should hit the shelves in March.

On DOLL PARTS Simmons told us "I’m particularly excited about this release as the book has been in limbo since early 2009. Those DDG bad girls have been itching to get into your grubby little hands for almost three years, horror fans"
