New Extreme horror Label Trinity X, the company releasing the controversial RED, WHITE AND BLUE this September, have got there hands on yet another film full to the brim with controversy in the form of Adam Rehmeier’s  THE BUNNY GAME (A former Trailer of the Week here on Snakebite Horror) , which will be released early 2012.

Yet to be given a certificate (and we all know how THAT can be as of late) in the UK, THE BUNNY GAME, which is said to be described as ‘taking psychological and physical terror to new extremes’  centres around a drug-addicted prostitute, Bunny, played by Rodleen Getsic, who is kidnapped by a truck driver (Gregg Gilmore - THE HEALING) and subjected to a harrowing series of sadistic and torturous ‘games’.

The co-director of Trinity Films, Mark Sandell, said: “Although The Bunny Game is acquired viewing and deals with disturbing issues, it fits the Trinity X brand perfectly in that it is distinctive and independent film-making at its best, with strong performances and a highly original filmic eye”.

Film4 FrightFest have always pleased fans with the festival posters which bring a new feel to the event year after year. Regular Frightfester Graham Humphreys has yet again created a cool bit of art work this year:

Picture
The FrightFest boys said: "We at FrightFest think top graphic designer and long-standing Frightfester Graham Humphreys has surpassed even his usual incredibly high standards this year"

Graham, the illustrator, also commented

“As it is the 12th year - my idea was a demonic creature crawling out of Big Ben (12, midnight, of course). It’s also a sly nod to 'Shock around the Clock' and there’s a sneaky reference to 'Quatermass And The Pit' as well”.

Don’t forget. This year’s mega line-up (over 40 titles) will be announced on 1st July.

Our good friends Twisted Tales over at Waterstone's Liverpool One will be Celebrating the work of Clive Barker and celebrating the release of the Barker Inspired HELLBOUND HEART anthology of inspired tales from some of the best in the horror-verse.

Hellbound Hearts:
The Influence of Clive Barker on 21st Century Horror

Aside from Twisted Tales' resident legendary writer, Ramsey Campbell, Liverpool has also produced another great master of horror: Clive Barker. Barker's fiction came to international attention with the publication of his Books of Blood in the mid 1980s. His status was considerably enhanced when he adapted his novella The Hellbound Heart into the film Hellraiser, which conquered the world in 1987 and went on to spawn many sequels, as well as a series of comics that explored its mythology. Clive also directed cult film classics Nightbreed (1990) and Lord of Illusions (1995). He designed the creatures and wrote the stories for two successful computer games: Undying (2001) and Jericho (2007) and is the author of many novels, including Weaveworld (1987) and Imajica (1991).

Join Twisted Tales for an evening celebrating and discussing Barker's enduring legacy at the UK's official launch of the Hellbound Hearts anthology- a collection of stories from some of the top names in contemporary horror that explore the Hellraiser mythology. Featuring readings by:

Mark Morris: Award-winning and bestselling author of The Immaculate, Torchwood: Bay of the Dead and contributor to Hellbound Hearts.

Paul Kane: Co-editor of Hellbound Hearts and award-winning author of The Hellraiser Films and their Legacy and the bestselling Arrowhead trilogy.

Marie O'Regan: Co-editor of Hellbound Hearts and award-nominated author of Mirror Mere.

Followed by a Q&A with the authors, who will be joined by Ramsey Campbell to discuss the influence of Barker's work on 21st century horror.

There will then be a signing session with all four authors.

I'm liking the sound of the book so far. FAMILY OF DOG: THE HARVEST is the first book in a new series from new author Jake Bannerman.

FAMILY OF DOG: THE HARVEST follows 18 people who, after selling their souls to the devil, decide they are not happy with the outcome of their deal. These 18 people call Satan to court and sue him for breach of contract in a Trial to End All Trails

Could this be a run away hit? visit Jake Bannerman's website http://familyofdog.blogspot.com/

The Horror Channel sent out an up date via Twitter tonight with more news in the shocking Ban of Human Centipede 2: Full Sequence. The Horror Channel received a statement from the people behind the film's PR:

"In the light of the decision of the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) not to grant The Human Centipede 2: (Full Sequence) a classification certificate, Bounty Films (Australia), in conjunction with its UK distribution partner Eureka Entertainment Ltd. intends to appeal the decision."

Tony Romeo of Bounty Films said:

“In Australia the film has been granted a certificate with no cuts. We are extremely surprised therefore by the BBFC’s decision.”

Could this mean we may finally get a chance to see the film? or will the BBFC stick to their guns?

As reported last night Human Centipede 2 was banned in the UK by the BBFC, which has been blasted with a mixture of different opinions for and against the ban. We at Snakebite believe in freedom of expression and I totally back Tom Six (I have quickly met Tom before and he is actually a pretty nice guy)

Over at Total Film they have managed to get a Reaction from Tom Six who had this to say in regards to the ban:

“Thank you BBFC for putting spoilers of my movie on your website and thank you for banning my film in this exceptional way. Apparently I made an horrific horror-film, but shouldn’t a good horror film be horrific?

My dear people it is a fucking MOVIE. It is all fictional. Not real. It is all make-belief. It is art. Give people their own choice to watch it or not.

If people can’t handle or don’t like my movies they just don’t watch them. If people like my movies they have to be able to see it any time, anywhere, also in the UK.”

What are your thoughts? do you agree or do you think we should censor film and take away the freedom of choice that we as adults should have? leave your comments!
