It is that time of the month again where our friends over at Arrow Films annouce the upcoming cult classics that will be hitting the shelves. In May we will be seeing the re-releases of three all time cult classics:
Picture
__ The House by the Cemetery
Shock gore master Lucio Fulci’s The House by the Cemetery is one of the finest typically single-minded exercises in zombie terror. Its just a shame no-one told the Boyle family who move into a gothic style house (by a cemetery) with a bloody past and a guts spraying future, what is yet to come! You’d think they’d twig given the basement door is nailed shut that they should get the hell out. Instead they stay long enough to discover their zombified non rent-paying lodger, the cellar-dwelling, flesh-hungry Dr Freudstein and boy is he pissed!
Includes:
- Reversible sleeve with 3 original poster artworks and newly commissioned artwork cover
- Double-sided fold-out artwork poster
- Collector’s booklet featuring writing on the film by author Calum Waddell

__The Forbidden Zone
Step into The Forbidden Zone, a bizarro world of frog butlers, topless princesses, machine-gun toting teachers, eccentric dwarves, their demonic wives, and the Devil himself (Danny Elfman). You’ve never seen anything like it…!

Check your basement. Is there door to the 6th Dimension there? If so, you’re going on a wild ride into excess as you join Frenchy and Rene in a land of musical madness, despotic queens and strange frog man-servants.

If you’ve tired of Rocky Horror and had enough of Hedwig, it’s time discover The Forbidden Zone, a demented tribute to the hot jazz and dark glamour of a lost age, featuring new wave pop music and Cab Calloway-style insanity, filtered through the mind of a maniac!

Includes:
- Reversible sleeve with 3 original poster artworks and newly commissioned artwork cover
- Double-sided fold-out artwork poster
- Collector’s booklet featuring writing on the film by director Richard Elfman and critic David Hayles illustrated with stills from the private collection of Richard and Danny Elfman

__The Exterminator!
Flamethrowers ready as the alleyways of skid row are set ablaze with the brutal vengeance of one man… The Exterminator!

John Eastland has been to ‘Nam and he’s seen things… Things you wouldn’t believe. Surviving torture and witnessing the brutal deaths of his friends, John returns home to a tough neighbourhood in New York and his loving family. But when some local thugs take a crippling dislike to his best friend Mike, leaving him paralysed, something snaps in John. Did he fight the Vietcong for this?

Taking the law into his own hands, Eastland sets out to clean the streets of every low life, good for nothing gang banger, mobster and ghetto ghoul across the city in director James Glickenhaus’ (McBain) brutally violent vigilante classic.

_AMER
This is art-house horror, a pure cinema for connoisseurs, a return to late-19th-century decadence.’ An homage to the great works of Argento and Bava, Amer is psychosexual thriller that captures the zeitgeist of 70′s Italian horror effortlessly.

A new mini horror preview show for The Horror Channel has hit YouTube. Presented by the very lovely Emily Booth ,HORROR BITES gives a monthly round up of what to expect from The Horror Channel every month.

Emily said about the show: “I grew up loving The Incredibly Strange Film Show with Jonathon Ross, but we've been starved of a good horror entertainment show for years, cue Horror Bites With Emily Booth! Initially I'll be reviewing the best premieres and film events on the channel each month, but also interviewing directors, visiting films sets and going to festivals as the show develops.
2012 sees Horror Channel really grow bringing a diverse mix of Horror films both classic with Hammer Horror premieres and new with brand new film releases from across the world - and of course we're bringing you a home grown TV show to boot so it really is the only place you need to go for EVERYTHING horror related!”

Also Emily will be doing a live interview on twitter (@horror_channel) on March 1st at 10pm-, so get your questions ready!

Here is the first show for this month:

GRIMM UP NORTH is back again for it's monthly double bill in Manchester. The monthly shows are always a big success and it is a perfect chance to mingle with fellow horror and cult film fans. The films on offer this month are:
Picture
_SHOGUN ASSASSIN:
Censored, banned, bootlegged, mistreated, but ultimately unstoppable, this breathtaking high-definition special edition is the release Shogun Assassin fans have been waiting for. Unquestionably the most popular samurai film in the West since the days of Akira Kurosawa, this chanbara classic was lifted from a hugely popular comic book saga and, still wet, transferred glistening to the screen. A A re-scored, re-dubbed reassembly of the first two films in the Lone Wolf & Cub series, the result has become an ageless cult sensation in its own right.

_BABY CART TO HADES:
Filled to the brim with memorable set pieces, iconic characters and violent action. This series more than lives up to its reputation as a pinnacle of Japanese exploitation cinema whose musings on the meaning of honour in a lawless world still resonate today…..Ogami Itt kills 150 people onscreen, the highest body count for a single character in a single film in cinema history.

Tickets cost £6.50 (Plus booking fee) and can be purchased HERE along with information on the venue

Just need to apologize for the awful opening line (above) very cheesy HOWEVER yes! Jeff Strand the author of such greats as PRESSURE, DWELLER, WOLF HUNT and THE SINISTER MR CORPSE is back with his brand new book FAINT OF HEART. I have said many a time how much I love the books from this man, Dweller even made our Halloween 2011 top reads list,  and I was overjoyed with the news  of a new title. the plot is as follows:

They have a safe little home in the woods of Alaska with an excellent security system. Yeah, she knows she'll spend the entire time jumping at every noise, but she also knows that the danger is all in her head.
By Sunday night, Gary still hasn't returned.
And when somebody shows up at the house, it's not her husband.

At gunpoint, Rebecca learns what has happened. Two men have kidnapped Gary. He went through a weekend of pure hell.
They'll give him back to her, but first, Rebecca has to relive his entire experience, step by horrific step...and survive...
